  • Except this game doesnt make you have seperate "rooms" so you can absolutely put a staricase in your foot court if you spent 5 minutes using your big brain to consider how. Just slap a small "corridor in the middle and voila, done. But "oH nO tHe fLoOr tIlEs dOnT mAtcH". The whole point is to learn how to mix and match rooms to be efficient. Another complaint you had was your poor base planning? Ok? Do better at laying out your base next time then..

  • Is Yahtzee actually smart or does he just own a thesaurus?.. I suppose intelligence isn't a singular entity. A footballer has intelligence in reading players, knowing how to kick the ball etc, an artist has intelligence to know what and were to paint, such as Yahtzee has intelligence to know what is entertaining. But in an academic sense, Yahtzee's always been more of a writer I believe. Worked data entry until the writing took off so not sure on his qualifications. Think he dropped out of secondary school

  • My dude, if you wanted a two level lunch room, all you had to do was zone in corridor in the middle of your lunch room. Or to the side of your lunchroom, whatever you were wanting. The only limitation is the room zones and the fact that it has to be at least 3x3 squares. Although the stairs take 4x6. I did a two level control room using that, it's not too difficult, you just need to zone right. Also, your evil Genius is only able to take on the beginning level agents and investigators, as they get stronger he has put in more and more danger and you need more and more minions to defend him. Or traps. Whatever tactics you choose to go with.

  • I don't think Yatzee figured out that cameras make your guards go running after agents as soon as they enter the field of vision. Also there is an auto-tagging research you can get, I always set the casino to auto-distract so any agents who enter keep getting stuck playing the slots and losing all their money.

  • The 2 things they cut from the original that'll sit as eternal sins to me are: - Not showing the heat generation of items in your lair [or having any form of heat view for your lair - not having the job priority level system from the first. Instead they have a dumb ass minon direction system hidden in the hire/ training tab that makes you really hate that they made world schemes remove your minions.....ffs you did a good thing their with making the world map and training worth something and ruined it all over by removing something so freaking simple as "do this fucking job before that one morons".

  • The appeal of this game is in part the fact that it doesn't take itself seriously and is a stereotype of evil villains. And you could have wandered the base executing people who slacked off. I don't know if it's in the new game, but in the original a genius could tag a room as being something they really really wanted finished first.

  • At one point, in the original game, I had lured all of the super agents to my lair - one by one - and dumped them into an eternal loop that just pushed them around with giant fan traps. They could never get on their feet long enough to disable the fans or get away. It was the best fishtank simulator ever.

  • In 2 you can freely mix and mash rooms. No minimum sizes or requirement to have a wall+door seperating the rooms. That specific items need to go into specific rooms is a affordance to allow pathfinding to operate remotely efficient.

  • It's a pain if it's like the first one - you have to place turrets and cameras outside and wait for your scientists to unlock research of disguised ones. You have to use the alerts to make them run or walk to grab guns but then you have to listen to that awful alarm. On the first game if you used high alert and had your security desk manned they'd run for weapons and shoot anything within view of cameras and turrets without having to target each enemy individually.

  • After 20 hours in the game I basically realised you need 3 things and everything else is a waste of time. 1# A guard room + table at both entrances and your vault with a small corridor section (traps are entirely redundant. #2. A big space with a chessboard like arrangement underneath each type of furnature so that the guards dont walk all over the place and actually ... guard.... #3 everything else can just be in one giant room, no walls required other than to place a camera (stick a column with 4 cameras/fire hyrants). That way anyone can get anywhere as the crow flies and your guards will plug the places where agent come in or teleport. Really the zoning is the only thing that gatekeeps the base placement. Once you realise you can just zone the minum you need for that piece of equipment it becomes quite easy. Like evil sim city...

Back then Red Ivan is a must have because he gathers only military minions while Killer Granny only gathers social minions so there for you actually do have control. But now? You can't even lock your minions with the door... What good is a door if you can't lock it?
