  • Seriously.. the whole Nikko timer thing is so old. It's gold - it takes time; I'd rather watch a good player go through the mental process to prep himself. The 30 second rule is a formalism, and only applies in cases where players are abusing the time limit for ulterior purposes. Mental and physical preparation shouldn't (and won't) be penalized.

  • nate doss' voice is obnoxious. sounds like he always has a smirk or that he is sayin something important but isnt. his nasaly voice is also not ideal to hear for long periods of time. its weird he is an announcer they pay to utilize. vs the jomez feed which seemed more positive toward nikko this feed was the opposite which isnt good energy. ill pass on the disc golf network if this is their level of quality. i realize they could get better. but its what i am feeling. be well, simon. happiness to you and your ten tribe of pets. peace man.

  • Loved the Nikko putt timer. We actually did the same thing watching the event. I wish I knew this was showing the actual tourney live. I thought it was like last where you couldn’t show live footage.

  • Yeah, so Nikkos put clock on Hole 8: I got 120 seconds from marking his lie to (missing) his put. Marks the disc , Checks the wind at 15 seconds and again at 20 seconds... then again at 30 seconds when he steps up to his put for real- then it’s another 30 seconds until Simon calls him on “that’s enough time, let’s go” then another 22 until he releases. Someone needs to toss him a warning just to put him on notice- call him on it!!!

    • Honestly that's one of those things that if everyone on the card is cool with it then I don't mind it either. If someone does mind, however, I don't think it's cool to make them feel bad or awkward for saying so. That's what Simon was talking about - calling people out can spoil the mood of the card and that's not ok.

  • I think you also get the 50% discount as pdga member for a year otherwise 12x5 = 60, so you would lose money by getting a year subscription (if you didn't get a discount). Kinda surprised that nobody picked up on that when you said it ;-) And what happened to Nikko? He was one of the best putters in the world when he did that hyzer putt back in the day. Now he misses 16 footers after a full minute??? That is not cool to see at all. Love the show peanut...keep it up!

    • @Jeff Wells it is only mental...

      Arthur HaverkampArthur Haverkamp24 päivää sitten
    • IMO his pre-shot routine is sabotaging him. He has to do it the same way every time, and it just gives him time to psych himself out. There's no confidence in the stroke. A good routine, IMO, only consists of a few pre-swings to make sure you're properly aligned and that you know where your release point is supposed to be, and then putt. You should work out how your putt needs to adapt to conditions (e.g. wind, etc) before you start your routine, and your routine should be prepping you for the adjustments that you've decided you need to make. That's basically what all the best putters on tour do. Nikko's routine is full of a whole lot of stuff that does absolutely nothing for his shot. He doesn't even practice his stroke! It's all pointing the disc at the basket, then backing off, then points again, then backs off, then points and leans back, then backs off, then points and leans back, then backs off, and then he putts. So its just giving him time for nerves to screw him up. He took almost a full minute for a 12 foot putt and missed, and I don't think he could have done worse if his whole routine was just point at the basket, lean back, and putt. That's not a good routine, for the record, it's just Nikko's routine with all the nonsense stripped out.

  • Simon does his check in for score update n Philo not even in top 10 no more. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭💯🤙🏽🥏⛓ Hole 8 Nikco’s putt, I counted 41 seconds tell he took his putt. 🤦🏽‍♂️ Doesn’t he have to maintain balance after the release on 18’s putt, by placing his lifted foot back down? Am I wrong?

    Disc_Golf_WiscoDisc_Golf_Wisco26 päivää sitten
    • They changed the rule, you no longer need to touch your back foot to the ground. You just have to show control before you step forward. I believe this also technically means you can be called for foot fault even with both feet planted if you manage to lose your balance during the putt. I'm not sure anybody has been called on it that way though.

      Jeff WellsJeff Wells26 päivää sitten
    • Rule 806.1 B After having released a putt, the player must demonstrate full control of balance behind the marker disc before advancing toward the target. The rule says nothing about placing your back foot down, but I think that putt was somewhat in the grey area as I didn't really see him actually stopping the motion forward. He did slow it down so I think he had balance (possible problem is the demonstration part) and I don't think anyone on the pro tour would call foot fault on the winners easy last putt unless it's a blatant one

  • For anyone who watches more than just the free final round of coverage you'll see certain patterns come up as far as video quality. The feed gets messed up when they are the farthest away from their equipment. It happened every time they where on that hole, and then got better as they got closer. It happens at Maple Hill and almost every other course in the middle of nowhere. Realize what they're working with compared to bigger sports. Those have fricken satellites! Of course it's not gonna be the same. Nor is post produced gonna be the same, they can upload super high quality. It's just weird, people rooting for a dude to loose while complaining about coverage they are giving you for free. Way to go internet! Anyway, this was cool Simon and Matt, I bounced back and forth for the whole thing. Sometimes wanted to hear them other times wanted your take. Well done, hope to see a few more of em.

  • dang the live comment really wanted nikko to lose. How disgusting... rooting for someone to do bad. Theres a difference in rooting for another player and rooting for a player to shoot bad. Not to mention, the live comment was really getting on my nerves. After that great putt on hole 17 I saw a lot of "lucky" "he doesnt deserve this" "overreating" type of comments. I saw more negative commetns towards this man its quite disgusting to see

    • He does it to himself; you can be great at anything, but if you're an ass to be around or play with, you're only going to get so much leeway on the tantrums and time.

    • It's not Nikko hate. It's anyone taking 1 minute a shot hate. I love Nikko's swagger, passion, awesome throw ins. A lot about him. The time violations are not cool. For him or anyone else. Plus, as Simon says (ha), the time Nikko is taking is hurting himself by overthinking too many shots.
